For Oover 40 years, Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science has educated health care professionals in the community and excelled as a medical research facility. Charles Drew University is a premier institution with a unique focus of developing health care professionals to lead the way in transforming lives in underserved communities. Since its first student enrollments in 1971, Charles Drew University has graduated over 550 physicians, 1200 physician assistants, 2,800 physician specialists, and numerous other healthcare professional—almost all from diverse backgrounds and most of whom dedicated to careers working in underserved communities. Our mission to educate doctors and nurses, engage in cutting edge medical research, and provide clinical services in our most needy communities is more important than ever.
